Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a stay at home mom, married for 8 years in May. We have lived all over the U.S, but currently reside in Pennsylvania. In addition to my 4 year old daughter, I have a 13 year old stepson who is home schooled. I stay pretty busy from day to day & our schedule can sometimes get hectic. I workout from home 5 days per week, which is like therapy for me. I am also a blogger, so I stay pretty occupied with that on the side — going to events, writing, and collaborating with various companies and businesses. It’s such an amazing hobby/side “job” and I enjoy it!
Why did you decide to participate in the KETO 30 challenge?
I was actually thinking of going back to keto, as I have done it before in the past, but didn’t have enough info to make it last. I turned my TV on one night when I jumped into bed and a KetoLogic commercial was on. It was the first time I had ever seen an actual keto commercial on TV. I was drawn to the product and immediately went to the KetoLogic website and Facebook page where I saw the Keto 30 challenge being advertised. I ran to GNC the next day and got all of my stuff because I was too impatient to wait for it to be shipped and it was the day before the challenge was set to begin. I thought it’d be a good way to restart Keto, but with more info this time! The shake seemed like a good, effortless option for at least one meal per day.
How did you feel while doing the KETO 30?
I felt amazing and super energetic! I had a few cravings at first, but those subsided by day 4, and I was totally fine. I was rarely ever hungry. I was really impressed with the products I used.
What was your favorite part about the KETO 30?
Finding that “me” again that was more confident and put together. My aunt passed unexpectedly in September. She and I were really close. It took a toll on me emotionally and physically. I went back to my old ways of eating for comfort and choosing foods that were full of sugar. I thought about food 24/7 and struggled with getting back on the program I was doing before. The Keto 30 challenge was a fresh start to healing both my body and my mind.
What was your least favorite part?
Probably the initial transition where I went from eating sugar most of the day to low carb, healthy foods with minimal sugar. For a few days I was unsure of myself, but I just kept going anyway because I knew it would be worth it!
What’s your favorite KetoLogic® KetoMeal™ flavor?
Vanilla. It’s so versatile and I love creating new food and drink recipes with it!
What’s your favorite KetoLogic® BHB flavor?
Definitely Patriot Pop. It tastes just like the popsicles we had growing up. So many great memories!
What advice would you give to someone considering the keto diet and/or the KETO 30?
Be patient with yourself & never stop researching. Keto isn’t a “one size fits all” approach. It takes some trial and error with your body. It’s hard at first, mentally, especially if you survived on mostly carbs and sugar prior to keto, but it does get better! If you’re an emotional eater like me who has struggled with sugar addiction and binge eating, keto can really help with all of those things. You just have to be willing to get past that first week, which to me is the toughest.
Any other final thoughts you’d like to share?
Keto is more than just weight loss. The anti-inflammatory benefits as well as the mental clarity and extra energy is also amazing. For me, being able to be 100% in control of my food and cravings is the best part! I don’t feel like I struggle internally with myself anymore whether to “eat this or not eat this.” Everything is less stressful in general. If you’re considering keto, definitely research the benefits other than weight loss if you’re struggling to make a decision!
