Tell us a little about yourself.

I am 27 years old and have struggled with being overweight my entire life. The ketogenic diet helped me not only shed more than 60 pounds, but it has totally changed my life and given me a better outlook on life and my health and fitness.

How did you hear about the keto diet?

I heard about keto from my wife, Lauren. She transitioned to the keto lifestyle a year before I did, so I had a lot of help getting started. I started my keto journey on December 28, 2017.

Why did you decide to try the keto diet?

I decided to try the keto diet because all other diets that I had tried were not sustainable. I would restrict my calories and lose weight and then gain it back time and time again. After seeing how much success my wife had on the diet, and how great she always felt, I finally decided to join her. One of the best decisions of my life.

What other diets have you tried? How does keto compare?

The main diet I used before keto was calorie counting. It worked great for me to lose weight, but I would always fall off plan and gain it all back and sometimes would gain even more. Keto is so much ore sustainable and has so many other benefits for my overall health. The level of mental clarity on a ketogenic diet and the way my body feels like it’s running more efficiently is addicting and that’s why it’s a sustainable lifestyle change for me.

What was the most challenging aspect(s) of the keto diet?

At first, the most challenging aspect of the keto diet was cutting the carbohydrates out of my life. Before paying attention to counting carbs, I never realized how many I was actually eating. Only when I began restricting them did I realize how carbs are in EVERYTHING in the modern food world. It was an eye opening experience to see all the added sugars that are consumed while following a Standard American diet.

How did you overcome your top challenge(s)?

I overcame the challenge of my addiction to food and carbohydrates by having one of the best support systems I could have ever asked for in my wife. With her being a keto coach, it’s like I had everything I needed to get through everything because she had gone through it herself. She also helps others overcome their top challenges, so I had it lucky having her there to help me along the way.

Why did you decide to participate in the KETO 30 challenge?

I decided to participate in the KETO 30 Challenge because I have come to really appreciate KetoLogic’s mission to help others. I have learned through my wife how great of a company they are and how much good they are doing in the keto community. I also wanted to add more structure to my diet in order to help me with staying accountable and I felt like this was a great way to do that.

How did you feel while doing the KETO 30?

I felt great while doing the KETO 30 Challenge. I used the KetoLogic meal replacement shake to replace my breakfast and it kept me full until lunch time, which was exactly what I needed.

What was your favorite part about the KETO 30?

My favorite part of the KETO 30 Challenge was the first time I tried the strawberry flavored meal replacement shake. It brought back memories from my childhood, as it reminded me of the way the strawberry oatmeal that I used to eat tasted. The strawberry is definitely my favorite flavor.

What was your least favorite part?

Didn’t have one. It was a very pleasant experience.

What’s your favorite KetoLogic® KetoMeal™ flavor? Strawberry for sure!

What’s your favorite KetoLogic® BHB flavor? My favorite BHB flavor is probably orange mango but patriot pop is a close second.

What advice would you give to someone considering the keto diet and/or the KETO 30?

I would say to start the keto diet with the KETO 30 Challenge because I think the KetoMeal really helps to curb your appetite and get you through that tough time of the day between meals.
